About Our Guardian Program

Happy Doodles Town chooses each of its Guardian Families carefully. We are not a kennel breeder. Our breeding dogs are placed in guardian homes with their forever families. The opportunity affords nearby families the privilege of having an exceptional dog at a considerably discounted price.

Guardian families must live within an hour of Miami, Florida. We cover all breeding expenses, but our guardian families are responsible for the routine veterinary care and wellness of the guardian puppy/dog that is placed with them. This includes annual vaccines, training, regular exercise, and socialization. A fenced-in yard is a must.

Happy Doodles Town retains the ownership and breeding rights while the dog lives with a family. After successful preliminary testing, the female begins her breeding career, returning to us about a week before her due date to whelp each litter of puppies. She will return to her guardian family once her puppies are weaned. Our breeding females usually have 3-4 litters and are in the guardian home program until they are around 4-5 years old. For the males, the dog will have to be available to us for breeding at designated times of the year. He will either visit us for a short time of the day or we may need to keep him with us a day or two. Transfer of ownership will happen once the dog has finished her/his breeding career and been spayed or neutered at Happy Doodles expense.
